Invisible Fences for Horses

One of the problems with invisible, electrical fencing is that large dogs and other large animals often look for weaknesses in the fencing through which to escape. It has been said that horses and especially intelligent dogs will sometimes tend to test their boundaries literally. If there is a mistake in the wiring or a glitch in the system there could be a window (of sorts) through which the animals could easily run away.

Horses are often trained to jump, canter, and roam. And when you have several acres of land you want to be sure you do not loose them. Especially new, untamed horses will be inclined to wander off or escape back to unbranded freedom. So for years and years farmers have used some so of tall fencing to enclose their property in which the animals must be contained. These looming fences were the trusted means of keeping even the most capable animals restricted to their owners land.

The fault in this is that miles of fencing is always sure to undergo some wear and tear or a weak point caused by some other factor in some elusive place. You may discover the escape hole yourself first, but you horses might also. The addition of a sharp but incredibly brief muscle spasm when the fence is bumped will discourage any animals from attempting to discover weak spots through which to disappear from your property.
